Bally Bet relaunches Kambi-powered app in Ohio

Bally Bet has launched its new platform in Ohio some two months after temporarily ceasing online betting operations across most of its US markets.

Bally’s Corporation’s sports betting division announced earlier this year that it would be relaunching its app. After shuttering its Bet.Works-developed app, the new platform has been created with Kambi Group and White Hat Gaming.

The new app has debuted in Ohio, where Bally Bet has a licence through its partnership with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns. It withdrew from five states in June ahead of the relaunch, only remaining operational in Arizona.

Bally Bet announced on its website that the new app is now live in Ohio. It will be rolled out in further US states in the coming months, according to partner White Hat Gaming.

“With extensive coverage of all major sports, near-endless wagering options, and features made to heighten the experience, our mobile sportsbook app is poised to deliver unmatched sports betting thrills,” Bally Bet said.

Bally’s to outsource tech stack

Land-based and online gaming operator Bally’s Corporation has announced sports betting supplier Kambi and PAM platform solution provider White Hat Gaming will power its sports betting services.

The deal, which consists of both online and land-based offerings, will see the providers supply the technological capabilities for sports betting to the business, as well as support the relaunch of Bally’s online sports betting platform Bally Bet.

The operator said that it expects Bally Bet to roll out across seven states and at four retail gaming locations by the end of 2023. The company further hinted that this may represent only the first stage of a global expansion.

Variable cost structure model

Through these partnerships, Bally’s said it wants to leverage Kambi and White Hat’s “proven” technology integration, licensing across regulated jurisdictions end-to-end, as well as the companies’ track record of executing “quick launches”.

The business said that another factor in why it has chos..

BallyBet launches in New York six months after initial approvals

Bally’s has launched its mobile betting product in New York, six months after the market launched and almost nine months after being announced as one of its nine licensees.

The operator was one of nine approved to launch through the state’s tender process, after the state approved two bids which each included a group of operators. The first operators in the state were approved to launch in January, with others following in February.

However, amid competitive marketing and the state’s 51% tax rate, Bally’s chair Soo Kim said the business was waiting until things looked more favourable before it would launch.

Now, though, the business has officially started taking bets in the empire state via its BallyBet sportsbook, powered by the Bet.Works platform it agreed to acquire in 2020.

“We are live and taking bets in the big apple on all the major sports,” Bally’s said. “NY-area sports bettors can now download our app on Android or iOS and start wagering today.”

New York is the sixth stat..

Bally’s approved to launch BallyBet in Ontario

Bally’s has been approved for an internet gaming licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The licence was approved on 30 June and will last for two years, expiring on 29 June 2024.

It covers fourdomain names – ballybet.ca, ballycasino.ca, ballysbet.ca and ballyscasino.ca, as well as the BallyBet mobile app.

Bally’s is one of the most recent operators to receive a licence to operate in the province, joining the likes of PokerStars, SkillOnNet and BetVictor.

Ontario’s regulated igaming market launched in April three years after Ontario announced plans to end the lottery’s online gambling monopoly on the province.

Operators such as theScore, PointsBet and Bet365 were approved for licences before the market opened.
